PascalCoin unveils plans to roll out new wallets/wallet features.

Having passed the community voting stage, PascalCoin developers have set out the mission to develop new wallets for transactions with PascalCoin and on the Pascal blockchain according to PIP-0031 (B&C).

This proposal hopes to solve the wallet-related issues encountered while using the current wallets and also improve the users' experience.

Despite the efficiency and effectiveness of the current wallets, the proposed wallets hopes to solve the following issues:

• ‘Difficulty of use’ of current wallet for noob users: Owing to the high technicality of the current wallets, users with little or no technical knowledge find these wallets ‘tedious’ to use. The PascalCoin transactions terms also appears foreign to people who are used to other cryptocurrency wallets.



• Need for a web wallet: A web wallet allows users run their transactions directly from a web browser without installing a wallet application or running a node, this makes for more flexibility and a faster way of transaction.





• Better user experience: Current wallets have a good user experience, however, there is always space for improvements, the new wallet hopes to fill these spaces.



• Lack of support for languages other than English: Current wallets only supports English language, this becomes a problem for users from non-English speaking countries. A ‘polyglot’ wallet is thus much needed.



• Support for layer 2 and P2P network: The new wallet hopes to provide an extensible framework for enabling layer 2 support and layer 2 apps and will also be able to run by connecting directly to P2P network.

• Flutter Mobile wallets: Expect some touch of beauty coming to your mobiles!. With the new mobile wallets being developed with flutter (a cross-platform app development framework primarily backed by Google), there comes promises of a better and faster user experience for Android OS and iOS. The flutter wallets can also be run on desktop, hence you can also have the flutter wallets on Linux, MacOS and Windows OS. The flutter web wallets will also have support for different languages, unfortunately, there will be no layer 2 and P2P support on the flutter wallet.



• Web wallet built as a Progressive Web Application (PWA) that can run in either a browser or installed directly to the user’s phone or desktop without them having to download or install any executables.



• A single unifying Graphic User Interface (GUI) that is cross platform running on Windows ,Linux MacOS, web, iOS and Android OS with a user friendly interface and an interface familiar to user of other cryptocurrencies, thus will solve the problem of foreignness of PascalCoin operation terms to those used to other cryptocurrency wallets.



• A general purpose wallet which contains a single index.html force along with compressed javascript, CSS, and static assets, with estimated size of about 5mb. This can be downloaded and run locally.



• A desktop wallet built as an electron app, which bundles a browser runtime together with the general purpose wallet to provide a much nice user experience.



• A processing layer to power the features of the above mentioned wallets.



Excited? I guess, yes!, better user experience and ease of use, the PIP-0031 proposal will take about 90-100 days to be delivered, hence current wallets will be in use till the new wallets are made available for the users, the current wallets still remains valid after this
